Senior AI EngineerTecton Works
Some context first. I'm Anurag, the technical co-founder. We also run a public-works construction company, so whatever we build gets used on our own projects, by our own project managers, from day one. We don't have to guess what contractors need. We hear about it every week, usually when something's running late.
What we're building is basically an AI operations team for contractors. Agents that pick up the work that slows a project down: schedules, look-aheads, submittals, bid tracking. The first one, BuiltWiz, handles scheduling and is being piloted on our own jobs right now.
The work you'd own:
- Fine-tuning and running our own open models. We don't want the company to depend on someone else's API.
- Turning messy construction documents (drawings, specs, schedules, RFIs) into something agents can work with. Fair warning, they're really messy.
- Making agent workflows reliable enough that a PM trusts the output
- Setting up how we evaluate AI quality. There's no setup yet, so you'd start from zero.
You'd probably fit if you've spent 6 to 8+ years in ML/AI and shipped LLM systems to production. You've done fine-tuning, RAG and evals yourself, not just prompting. You'd pick being engineer #2 with real ownership over being #200. And you'd rather teach a small team than be taught.
If you've worked around construction before, that's a big plus. If you haven't, don't let it stop you. We'll get you up to speed on the domain.
The setup: small founding team, remote to start, then Bangalore. Competitive pay plus equity.
