As a Data Engineer within our India technology hub, you will play a key role in supporting the data infrastructure that powers Best Buy’s retail and e-commerce operations. You will be responsible for building robust data pipelines, ensuring high-quality data availability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive actionable insights. This position focuses on creating scalable tooling to streamline data workflows and improve the reliability of our analytical platforms.
what you'll do:
- Design and implement data quality and validation checks to ensure accuracy across retail and customer datasets.
- Develop reusable tooling to automate recurring data fixes and reduce manual engineering effort.
- Investigate and resolve root causes for pipeline failures to maintain system uptime.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define and standardize key metrics for reporting.
- Build and maintain self-serve datasets that enable teams to access data reliably.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to integrate new data sources and improve architecture.
