R&D EngineerPRYM Group
When I incorporated PRYM, I made one distinction that seemed inconsequential at the time.
PRYM was the company. Salam Kisan was the brand.
Agriculture was where we would begin, but I never wanted the first problem we solved to define the limits of what we could build.
Four years later, Salam Kisan reaches over 550,000 farmers. PRYM designs and manufactures drones, holds DGCA type certification & training, and has expanded into defence.
There were easier paths. Remain a platform. Outsource the engineering. Depend on someone else’s technology.
Instead, we chose to own the capabilities that would define our future: product architecture, critical engineering, manufacturing know-how and, increasingly, autonomy.
Not because everything must be built in-house, but because the technology at the core of our competitive advantage must be ours to develop and control.
The first four years taught me how far conviction and movement can take an idea. The next ten will be about how far the right people can take an institution.
One thing I’ve learned is that the conviction that builds a company can become its ceiling if it remains concentrated in the founder.
Early on, that intensity is an engine. At scale, it can become a bottleneck.
The next chapter is about building an organisation where ownership, judgment and execution extend far beyond me.
We’re hiring across PRYM: technicians, drone pilots, R&D engineers, sales professionals, ML/AI and software teams, and leaders across functions, including the Founder’s Office.
Whatever your discipline or experience, if you want to build technology and businesses that compete globally, I want to hear from you.
