Executive AssistantGavel Speaks
Quick context. I run Gavel Speaks (cross-border legal advisory for US, India, UAE and EU clients), co-founded Hello Paralegal, and mentor young lawyers on building freelance practices. Three businesses, one inbox, and I'm spending more hours on admin than on the work people actually pay me for.
I don't need someone who waits for instructions. I need someone smart who gets things done, and who tells me when my system is broken and how to fix it.
Who this is for:
• Final-year law students, recent law graduates or junior lawyers
• You finish what you start without being chased
• You notice what's slowing things down and say so. Feedback on how to run things better is part of the job, not a bonus
• Clear written English. You'll be the first reply many clients see
• Discreet. You'll sign an NDA
• Comfortable with Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, WhatsApp. Calendly and Notion you can learn in a week
What you'll do:
• Triage my inbox and DMs, send first replies to inquiries, book discovery calls
• Run my calendar and chase follow-ups so nothing goes cold
• Raise invoices, track payments, keep client folders tidy
• Fill in engagement letters and NDAs from my templates for my review
• Onboard new mentees and send session reminders
• Handle personal admin too: bills, bookings, errands
• Once a week, tell me what's not working and what you'd change
What you'll see:
How US, UAE and Indian clients actually come in, how proposals get priced, how a solo practice runs on systems. Most juniors wait years for this view.
The terms:
• About 3 hours a day, Mon to Sat, fixed window between 10 AM and 1 PM IST
• INR 15,000 per month
• Two-week paid trial first
• Remote. Delhi NCR is a plus, not a must
To apply, email ann@gavelspeaks.com with the subject "EA application". Tell me in two lines why you want this, what you've done so far, and your answer to this:
"A US founder emails asking if we can help set up a Delaware company and what it costs. Write the reply you'd send on my behalf. Then tell me one thing you'd change about how this inquiry should be handled."
Know a law student who'd be great at this? Tag them.
