If you have strong Linux engineering expertise and hands-on experience in NixOS, firewall development, and low-level networking, this opportunity is for you! 🔹 Key Responsibilities - Design and develop a firewall appliance OS using NixOS, Nix Flakes, and custom Nix modules. - Build packet filtering, stateful inspection, and traffic-shaping capabilities. - Work with nftables, iptables, Linux kernel networking, eBPF, and XDP. - Implement enterprise Linux hardening, automation, and security compliance. - Develop backend services and APIs for firewall management and control planes. - Build CI/CD pipelines for immutable deployments, system images, and firmware updates. - Perform network performance benchmarking, stress testing, and security validation. 🔹 Required Skills ✅ 8+ years of relevant Linux engineering experience ✅ Hands-on expertise in NixOS, Nix Flakes, and declarative system configuration ✅ Strong Linux networking fundamentals: routing, VLANs, VXLAN, IPsec/WireGuard, and network namespaces ✅ Expertise in nftables, iptables, and packet filtering ✅ Advanced Bash and Python scripting ✅ RHCE certification with strong enterprise automation experience ✅ Experience with Ansible, systemd, and Linux security hardening Good to have: eBPF/XDP, DPDK, Kubernetes networking, Cilium, Suricata/Snort, and open-source NixOS contributions. 📩 Interested or know someone suitable?
