As an SDE 2 at Deliveroo, you will join a product-led team focused on the financial infrastructure that supports thousands of restaurant and grocery partners. You will design, build, and maintain mission-critical backend systems that facilitate high-volume transactions across our global markets. This role is essential for ensuring our platform remains performant, secure, and reliable as we continue to scale our operations in the fintech and B2B commerce space.
what you'll do:
- Design and implement robust backend services using Python and Django for our B2B partner platforms
- Develop and maintain high-performance REST APIs to support complex cross-functional integration requirements
- Optimize PostgreSQL database schemas and queries to handle high-concurrency financial transactions
- Architect scalable cloud-native services within AWS to ensure 99.9% system availability
- Collaborate with product and design teams to iterate rapidly on new features within a small, autonomous squad
- Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior engineers to maintain high architectural standards
