I never hired a full time person before.
I put up a role on LinkedIn and Twitter, cast the net as wide as I could, and waited. I expected to learn about candidates but it was an interesting experience in a way. 1. So many CVs looked the same, full of AI projects and only AI/tech internships. Agents, RAG, MCPs, and a whole lot of words I don't understand were everywhere. I don't know what happened to all the marketers, operators and sales people. These are serious skills that businesses would still want I presume. Felt like AI flattened every single CV. 2. And then I see titles like Head of Growth, Founding Team, Growth Lead for people who are barely out of college. So I went to the company website to see what it is about. It looks like any normal SaaS/ product website, until I click on some of the buttons. They lead you nowhere, it's just a webpage that doesn't even work. It is totally cool to build an MVP to learn about building or get better about tech. But pretending it's a real company hurts your credibility. 3. Then there were the GitHub links. So far so good. And then boom, you see a downloadable ppt on the github. No code or a webpage. I didn't know what to make of it. Is this a thing now? Or was it just an attempt to pad GitHub projects? P.S. I'm still hiring for a Founder's Office role at Meant2Bae. If you're someone who is a problem solver, I'd love to hear from you. Check comments for JD & application.
