Machine Learning Tech Lead@Netflix
We’re always hiring at Netflix. Today I’m highlighting two of the open IC leadership roles on my teams:
1. ML SWE TL, Notifications Personalization: This role will lead the ML infra system design for the team at a pivotal time as we scale the notification portfolio, expand to serve more lines of business, lean into more responsive decisioning, and expand capabilities with GenAI & agentic architecture. A successful candidate has experience acting in a leadership capacity to empower and accelerate a group of engineers; building and operating a member-facing ML system; and working across the ML lifecycle including offline pipelines & online decisioning. Remote; SF Bay Area preferred.

2. Research Engineering Area TL (L6): This role will shape the technical vision and strategy across notifications personalization algos, asset personalization algos, and other 0-1 ML/AI initiatives, as well as own execution for more complex projects across all spaces. The role enables you to combine deep learning, causal inference, content understanding, and product sense with cutting-edge AI innovation to transform how users experience Netflix. A successful candidate has 8-10+ years of experience in product ML engineering including some in GenAI, 2+ years of experience as a tech lead, and outstanding communication and XFN partnership skills. PhD preferred.

If either resonates with your experience and interest, please apply! Some tips for getting noticed:
- These are leadership roles; please only apply & message me if you meet all the requirements or have a referral of someone who does. We have a variety of roles available on the Netflix job site for those with different skill sets & experience levels. Unfortunately I get hundreds of messages a week and need to filter out those who aren't a fit for my specific role.
- Almost all of those messages are written with AI, so they all sound the same. I’d much rather hear from you in your own voice, even if it is a less polished message.
- Messages that include a short summary of your experience, your resume, and a note that you applied are the most effective. Messages that ask me to set up a call or request your resume are one more step for me to take and increase the chance that you’ll fall out of the funnel.
