Director | Product Analytics @ Gong

Product Analyst@Gong
In the AI era, a common assumption is that analytics teams should be getting smaller. However, our team at Gong is growing, and I believe AI is one of the reasons why.
It's easy to think there's a finite amount of valuable analytical work to be done, leading to the conclusion that if AI doubles an analyst's productivity, we need half as many analysts. But that’s not what I'm observing. As AI enables us to answer questions faster and uncover deeper insights, the volume of valuable work we can realistically tackle expands dramatically. Instead of doing the same work with fewer people, we are engaging in much more impactful work with our existing team. Adding another analyst creates even more value. In economic terms, instead of AI reducing the marginal value of the "last" analyst on the team, it actually increases it by expanding the set of opportunities the team can pursue. For our team, AI has shifted where we spend our time. Instead of primarily fulfilling data requests or analyzing recently released features, we're increasingly partnering on product design before features are built, using data to shape decisions from the outset. We're also investing more in platform quality, customer feedback analysis, experimentation, and strategic initiatives. And beyond Product, we're now able to create significantly more value for R&D and Go-To-Market as well. While the optimal size of an analytics team is not infinite, it is not defined by the historical workload of analysts. I think there has never been a better time to be an analyst. We don't know exactly where the profession will be in five years, but what I'm seeing today makes me optimistic about the direction we're heading. And yes, we are hiring. If you are a seasoned Product Analyst looking to own a large product area end-to-end and make a company-wide impact in an AI-native environment, I would love to hear from you. πŸš€πŸš€πŸš€ https://lnkd.in/dAvETzQM
