PhonePe operates at a scale that's genuinely hard to find anywhere else: 700 million registered users, 50 million merchants, over 330 million transactions a day. But scale isn't why I'd tell you to come. What keeps me here is the mission behind it — financial inclusion for a billion Indians — and the sheer range of hard problems it throws up. Payments, lending, insurance, wealth, commerce. Regulated products, real money, and users in every corner of the country, many of them investing or paying online for the very first time. The design team exists to make all of that feel simple, calm, and trustworthy. That's the job. It's not always easy, but it matters, and the people you'd do it alongside are some of the best I've worked with. Since the start of 2026, we've been reimagining what's next beyond traditional product reviews and recommendations. That work has evolved into a broader effort to create consumer experiences as part of CNN's growing New Business team. We're at a really exciting stage. We've done a lot of the foundational work, and now we're ready to bring on a thoughtful designer to help turn those ideas into products that people can actually use. If you enjoy navigating ambiguity, collaborating across disciplines, and helping shape products from the ground up, you'll have a meaningful impact on what we build next. The ideal candidate brings at least two years of professional product design experience, has worked closely with cross-functional teams, and has a portfolio that demonstrates strong UX thinking, visual craft, and problem solving.
